I asked a slightly different question earlier:

"If a man marries a divorced woman, can they still be Christians?"

http://answers.yahoo.com/question/index;_ylt=An7Z.KufmQVtmpdt359jr.Lsy6IX?qid=20070121185130AAfy9Om

(This was based on Matthew 5:32 in which Jesus said that anyone who marries a divorced woman is an adulterer.)

The answers contained many justifications saying they could be Christians, while several others declared that they could not be Christians. (And some were simply confusing or avoided the question.)

Do the same justifications or condemnations apply equally to a gay marriage and to a second marriage (after divorce)? If they are different, why?

of course they can still be chrsitian!

being a christian is having faith in jesus as lord. jesus knows we sin, and that it's part of life.

let's never forget the adultery story. these people came with this girl and said "she comitted adultery, what should we do?" jesus said "if anyone has NOT sinned, cast the first stone." and of course no one could because we all sin.

the way to heaven is having faith.

and plus, homosexuality is not a sin. people say it is, but unless they know hebrew and greek they have no ground to stand on. :)

No. Although they may call themselves such. They will not become Christians until they repent, and turn away from their sins. Getting out of the gay marriage, for marriage is made between a husband and wife.

As far as a divoreced woman. It depends on the reason of the woman divorce. If it was because of unfaithfulness, or her husband died, then it is okay. However if she just remarries then yes it is wrong. And anyone to marry her, is indeed committing adultery. So no they are not Christians either if they do this. And they can become Christians by repenting of their sins. However they should not divorce, because they would be doing the same sin over again.

God says somewhere in the good book, check for exactness, i will return, if God wills tomorrow with more detail, let me know if this is Ok. There are many questions you are asking. Lets put them in the most important list if you will, then together we can discuss this. Just a little word of my own, A divorced woman may marry, if i recall correctly, if she has been a victim of adultery by her husband. and other explanations, but we are all man and woman and created a such with description, do not be misled, a man is a man, a woman a woman, other feelings Only God knows. But if you were born a man, a man you are, if a woman a woman you are, we all need instruction and we all need to be adviced or told by our parents, or guardians who we are and what we are, so to hopefully we could gear our children, and childrens children in the right direction. Let me know. God loves you be straightforward and be not afraid Ok good questions. let me know, see you next time.

A practicing homosexual cannot be considered a Christian. Being homosexual is an abomination to God. God doesn't accept abominations. Don't get me wrong, God won't accept those who don't repent and actively seek to lead their lives as Jesus did. The divorced man one can be a Christian. The marriage and divorces need some context. A marriage of a man+divorced woman (who divorced for reasons specified in the Bible) is okay. If the woman's previous husband beat her to a bloody pulp and he didn't want to change, then good for her leaving. God doesn't want people to divorced, but He started allowing it during Moses' time because people were being ridiculous. If she leaves her last husband because his *ahem* was to small, then her new marriage is wrong, but the new man can still be a Christian.

The fact is only God truly knows if someone has truly accepted christ in their life and become a believer. I dont believe anyone truly following christ and has a working knowledge of this would do this although it could be a temptation for someone , we are still human. Its one thing to have a natural god given desire for a woman and it is a struggle to keep from sexual sin as a christian, christians are not perfect, we ask god for strength to be obedient to what he knows is the best for us, it is another thing to have an unnatural desire for something that was not made to be that way, that type of immorality is like the apple to the orange. I believe that if a man is gay and has truly accepted jesus christ in his life it would only be a matter of time before he would be to convicted that what he is doing is not right in the eyes of god and unnatural and turn to the natural way to display affection and that is through marriage with a woman.

Regarding the current question 'can two Massachusetts men marry one another, and still be Christians?' I am concened that you missed the point here that the Bible says no same sex relationship person (homosexual) will be going to heaven at all.

Friend, the Bible says in the new testament:

Rom 1:26 For this cause God gave them up unto vile affections: for even their women did change the natural use into that which is against nature:
27 And likewise also the men, leaving the natural use of the woman, burned in their lust one toward another; men with men working that which is unseemly, and receiving in themselves that recompence of their error which was meet.
28 And even as they did not like to retain God in their knowledge, God gave them over to a reprobate mind, to do those things which are not convenient;
29 Being filled with all unrighteousness, fornication, wickedness, covetousness, maliciousness; full of envy, murder, debate, deceit, malignity; whisperers,
30 Backbiters, haters of God, despiteful, proud, boasters, inventors of evil things, disobedient to parents,
31 Without understanding, covenantbreakers, without natural affection, implacable, unmerciful:
32 Who knowing the judgment of God, that they which commit such things are worthy of death, not only do the same, but have pleasure in them that do them.

Do you see then that unless we confess that it is wrong according to God's word, then we cannot be saved. The whole purpose is to be redeemed from serving sin, and in the end getting our just paycheck death.

Whoever you know that is homosexual I will be praying for while there is still time for them to repent, please remind them:

Rom 6:23 For the wages of sin is death; but the gift of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord.

Act 3:19 Repent ye therefore, and be converted, that your sins may be blotted out, (...)

They can be anything they want to be because it is their reality. They could be straight or they could be not even humans. Hahahaha, the bottom line is people like to separate themselves from others because it make them feel better. No one to take responsibility for the society they call home. But you bet your bottom dollar if they divorce everyone will have their hands out and all of a sudden gay won't matter because someones wallet is open. It's funny when money comes in people drop their faiths and what have you on the floor.
Truly sad.

There is no such a thing as a gay/lesbian married in Christianity, that would be a sect. I don't judge anybody for I might go to hell by judging them while they might repent and go to heaven, but for as long as they live in sin, is abomination to God.
1 Corinthians 6:9-11
9Do you not know that the wicked will not inherit the kingdom of God? Do not be deceived: Neither the sexually immoral nor idolaters nor adulterers nor male prostitutes nor homosexual offenders 10nor thieves nor the greedy nor drunkards nor slanderers nor swindlers will inherit the kingdom of God. 11And that is what some of you were. But you were washed, you were sanctified, you were justified in the name of the Lord Jesus Christ and by the Spirit of our God.

People from the same sex cannot marry as God created marriage between man & women only !

Gen 2:24 Therefore shall a man leave his father and his mother, and shall cleave unto his wife: and they shall be one flesh.

As for divorce the only reason to get divorced & re-marry is fornication in the marriage:

Mat 19:9 And I say unto you, Whosoever shall put away his wife, except it be for fornication, and shall marry another, committeth adultery: and whoso marrieth her which is put away doth commit adultery.

Depends on the brains of the congregation.
It is a well known fact that the more educated people are the more accepting and liberal they become.
That explains why we have a retarded Christian President who thinks gay marriage is important.
