Ok so my bf just laid some dental floss on our coffee table and our dog decided it would make a nice snack. So I'm just wondering what I should look for in case it doesn't pass. I'll keep an eye out for it but I just want to know what kinda things I should look out for if it goes bad. Also I got her to eat some soft food right after with the idea that it might get mixed up with that and pass a little easier. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks!!

My dog once ate a ear plug and it eventually just came out, so i assume it will be the same with dental floss. All the same take him/her to the vet and have an ex ray done. This will show them where it is and if it is a problem. Your vet will know what to do from then on out.

Thread, Yarn, and Dental Floss...if ingested, thread, yarn, and dental floss can bunch up and tear up your pet's intestines.
You will have to watch for
* vomiting or dry heaves
* anorexia or decreased appetite
* straining to defecate or diarrhea
* painful abdomen
* fever
* depression
* dehydration (due to vomiting)
* blood in stool
these would be indications there is a problem.

It should be ok. Just check for blood in the feces and if you notice some, take it to the vet. Otherwise it should be passed without much problem.

That floss can cause major problems with their intestines, please get the dog to the vet asap.
