My 2 1/2 year old was just approved to get benefits. What can the money be used for? What's the rules concerning this? Like can we buy him a bed, tv etc.. Or does it just have to be food, diapers etc?? Anyone know? Serious answers only please.

Kate, no his real needs always come first. But no one really explained what else I could use it for. Wonder where they draw the line at.

I believe that SSDI is given to a child who has a
disability of some kind. The state expects that this
child has extra needs, and firstly, the money should
be spent for whatever that child needs most. His
needs are for a place to live,food/utilities,extras to
help the disability/and you sure won't have muchj left if this is your only income...but if you do..you and child should have some fun. One note of Warning: There are predators looking for single women just
like you. They move in use up your money and
treat you and child like dirt. It's almost impossible
to get rid of them. Be careful they can be a night-
mare.

Its for the child's benefit, for the parents to use on that child for whatever he or she would need, like food, clothing, schooling until the age of 18!

Whatever the child needs, but hopefully he doesn't get a TV , then goes hungry because there is no $$ left.
