How does a person decide to just 'stop stuffing their face'? Seriously, when I'm in the middle of a binge, it's like there's nothing in the world that's going to keep me from eating until I'm so satisfied I'm sick. (Yes, I know this is a problem..if I didn't think I was screwed up I would have posted this in Diet and Fitness..)

I seriously have a 'chocolate addiction'. I can keep my portions small as long as it's not chocolate. I hate this about me. I'm not overweight, but I'm going to end up that way if I don't put a stop to this.

Just for your info: I do have a tendency to purge (meaning I have some type of bulimia), but I'm trying not to do that! But the same bingeing urges come and if I give into them...I'm just left full and fat.

You are your own worst enemy. You are addicted to your addictions. Make a deal with yourself. Every time you get the "urge to purge", take away one of your favorite things. The answer is within yourself. Are you feeding a hungry heart? Learn to love yourself enough to take care of yourself. Once you are comfortable in your own skin, you will have some joy to look forward to. Just take one baby step at a time. Knock off the binging, get a grip before you talk yourself into it. If you can't talk your self out of it.
Be your own best friend, and the rest will follow. Be strong, be tough, kick your own butt. YOu are the bomb...

As a diagnosed "binge eater" I feel your pain. I can't tell you what to do about it, other than knowing that it's an impulse, try to identify your triggers, if you were stressed that day, ect. And you may find that there is a pattern, and once you can identify what triggered your binge, then you can work on it from there, knowing what your triggers are ahead of time, gives you time to prepare yourself and find something different to do. I know its tough, but there is some really good websites on binge eating disorder, also, people are becoming a lot more aware of binge eating disorder. You need some councilling. And there are great councillers out there! Good Luck!

Going to counseling or a treatment center is going to be the only way to fix this problem. If you don't you will die.
