They are deployed for as long as George Bush wants them deployed, and for as many times as George Bush wants to deploy them.

Ok, so the typical deployment in the Marine Corps, reserves or active, is 9 months. That is the time in country, and was only recently adapted by the last CMC in addition to increasing the size of the Corps to allow for longer rotations of 9 month deployed 18 months dwell time. But if you are reserves you'll probably be activated for about a year for a deployment, so that they can do some work ups first, before you take off for over seas. Also keep in mind that the Marine Corps can and will change it's mind on how long you'll be there, so it is possible to end up deployed longer and shorter periods of time.

Don't listen to some of these people talking about Army... it's different for every branch, but generally Marines are deployed for 7 months. Sometimes a little less (3-5) or a little more (8-9). It would depend on the unit they are assigned to. They would also be deployed as much as they are needed, but usually at least a year after the deployment before. Don't let it intimidate you if you are planning on joining. You'll make the most awesome friends and experience the craziest sh*t in boot camp. It's fun though.

They are deployed any where from 1 to 2 years. Their superior officers and the government they serve under determines this. They are deployed as often as current law, and regulations allow. Generally, home for 1 year, and deployed again. They are there for our best good. Islam is NOT a religion that you want having any real control here in America. To them, in that religion, you as a female have a lower social standing than your husbands' best hunting dog. While that may sound vile, and hateful, I know from past experience that it is true. I spent 16 months in Turkey. Our values and those of Islam are not the same.

For as long as they are needed, SIMPLE!
If they enlisted in the Marine Reserves for the extra paycheck, pucker up because it is time to PAY YOUR DUES!
Some did a tour, went home and then were called back for a second or third tour. Depends upon their MOS and the needs of the Marines.

As long as they are needed and for as many times as the Commander in Chief deems neccessary. There are no limits, they signed away their rights to complain when they joined. That's why you have been sent around in circles trying to find that answer.

From what George W. has indicated, as long as he wants them there (in a time of war (declared or not)). In peacefull times, only a couple of years, me thinks!

Unfortunately, the answers to these questions are indefinitely, and as many times as the Commander-in-Chief wants, respectively.
