Look at that verse in context. Paul is talking to born again believers who have the mind of Christ, (or, the Holy Spirit). Once you have the Spirit, you are supposed to renew you mind with the Word of God, and live according to the Spirit. Not according to the flesh.

A little far fetched to non believers, I know, but this is the foundation to a believer's life.

Galatians 5:16 But I say, walk by the Spirit, and you will not gratify the desires of the flesh. (17) For the desires of the flesh are against the Spirit, and the desires of the Spirit are against the flesh, for these are opposed to each other, to keep you from doing the things you want to do.

2 Corinthians 10:4 For the weapons of our warfare are not of the flesh but have divine power to destroy strongholds. (5) We destroy arguments and every lofty opinion raised against the knowledge of God, and take every thought captive to obey Christ,

The Biblical cure for not living in the flesh, is to live rather in the spirit,as to not give way to carnal desires.

Much easier said than done.

The Bible also declares that our soul and spirit are ever at war with each other. We can and do choose the winner of that fight.

fleshly minded actually means lust, like for example, we dont know that we're not suppose to do something but we really want it, and we did it, that's called fleshly minded, we obey what our body we WANTs even if we know that it is wrong.

for example : eating unhealthy foods, sexual force..etc..

You can't escape your fleshy nature, but if you fix your eyes on Jesus, that fleshly stuff will be less of an influence in your life.

You start with your mind. See yourself from OUTSIDE.

Know that you are being watched.

Make decisions without regard to the wants of your own flesh.

it has to do with respect. If you are fleshy minded as you say, its a little hard to pin point, i believe you really do not understand the essence of the senses, one is touch, your body, as well as everyone elses is compsed largely of "skin" or cutaneous material, try looking with un premeditated or preconcieved eyes. OK it is nice to admire someone as to the way they look, or dress, eventhough they might be from another country, but it only takes a little respect, we are all human beings made in the "likeness of the Creator. our God, blessings my dear.

Are you really so horny all the time 24-7 that you have no ability to think about anything else? Of course not. You have the ability to do much greater things. We can enjoy all that this earth has to offer including food and sex, but our primary concerns should be for the greater good.

Romans 12:2
Do not conform any longer to the pattern of this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind. Then you will be able to test and approve what God's will is—his good, pleasing and perfect will.
