Because devil is something bad. Not god. The bible teaches people to do good and love their enemies. So your assumption is flawed.
On the contrary, try looking at the islamic q'uran. There, you will find the words of Satan.

I believe that the Bible is true and it is inspired Word of God.
Devil is a fallen angel, I would not give him too big credit. He does not have any power over us when we put an armor of God around us.
