I heard it is good to stretch before the workout to prepare them, but it tears the muscle. I heard it was good to stretch after the workout because it literally stretches the tense muscles. I usually go during my lunch break, and I don't have time to stretch before AND after the workout.

Well, what i would do, is shorten your workout so you can do before and after because before so you dont hurt something badly and after because it's suppose to keep your muscles from tightening. Your not suppose to just stop using them quickly, from running to not moving at all.

Strecth before you workout to warm up your muscles. It's a good idea to stretch after as well.

Work out both at the beginning and the end for the best results. If given a choice of only one, I would stretch out at the beginning.

Hope this helps!

You should stretch before and after a workout.
Both stretches are important (as you already stated).

At the end b/c your muscles are more lax and if you stretch too much before, it can cause a pulled muscle or other injury.

...and incidentally I found it BEST to stretch before and after! If you only got time for one, I'd say definitely before! And slowly. And don't force it and don't bounce! And breathe

lol.. doing it before is good for your warming your muscles to avoid tearing of muscles.. doing it after is release the tense thus avoiding aching mucles..
