I still have those ridges on my four front teeth, you know at the very top across the edge. Everyone gets it on all their teeth when they first grow in as a child, and all of mine have gone away now (I'm 13) except for the two front top and two front bottom. Does anyone know why they're still there?

If your top and bottom front teeth do not touch, they will not "go away." They go away because they wear away through contact with the other teeth. If your teeth do not touch, you can ask to have them trimmed down to your liking, most of the time.

It simply takes longer to go away on some people than others. They used to stay much longer, until people were in their twenties, but with the higher stress levels of younger persons, there are higher tendencies to grind teeth to relieve tension, so they wear faster. If you are only thirteen, they will eventually go away. Consider yourself lucky - they give most people a youthful appearance for a longer span of time and they add character to looks. Mine didn't go away until early thirties . . . I miss them.

They will go away on their own, may take till mid 20's even up to your 30's. Actually I agree with the other answer that they give people a youthful look, mine were totally gone by my late 20's and I miss them.

They will stay there unless your dentist or orthodontist files them off.
