You need to get your dog to associate barking with something unpleasant. I'm sure your dog is intelligent enough to associate her leash with "walk" and the noise of kibble with "dinner time". Now it's time to get her to associate "barking" with "unpleasant noise that I hate."
A cheap and easy way to do this involves some spare change and an empty soda can. Place 3-4 pennies into an empty can and tape over the opening. Everytime your dog begins to bark, go near her and shake the hell out of the can for 10 seconds or so. The noise is obnoxious and loud and should immediately cause her to stop barking in her tracks.
The key to this exercise is persistence. Carry the can around the house with you. Everytime your dog barks, shake the can. The goal is to train your dog to associate her barking with the awful noise of the can.
This is basically the same thing that the shock collar does, only cheaper. However, it does require you to be home to facilitate, unlike the collar which works while you are away.
Good luck.

Try an electric collar. Every time the dog barks the collar shocks. It dosent really hurt the dog, it's just sort of uncomfortable for it. It was the only thing that worked for my friends dog

Hi, There is another type of collar you can use that's sprays out Citronella rather than give an electric shock.
The first thing you should do before resorting to a anti barking collar is take you dog to obedient training if you haven't already done that.

Read Ceaser's Way by Ceaser Millan. He's the Dog Whisperer guy. I read so many books about dog obedience and nothing worked with my Akita until I read this. It totally opened my mind on how to interract with my dog.

My neighbor's dog won't stop barking. I wish they would do something; you should try a shock collar that will give him a little "zap" when he barks.
