I have started practising meditation for the past 2 weeks. But my friends who don't meditate say that I have become abnormal. Is this really so?

No. It just means that they find it not-so-mainstream. It's not cool. So if it means that meditating means you're labelled uncool, BE UNCOOL. Like me. Hehe.

Meditation is a great way to get in touch with your spiritual side and it helps you become more focused and mentally strong

if your friends dont accept you for trying to better yourself then they maybe arent the best of friends...meditation is in no way abnormal it is very healthy for both body and mind

If your personality or anything else has changed I can see why your friends would think that. They r use to u a certain way n then u start meditating n they see a change in u there wording could be abnormal. It doesn't mean u r.

There are two types of meditation. eastern meditation, which is sitting a relaxed position concentrating on your breathing and thinking about nothing...

then there is western meditation, which is reading an intriguing thought and thinking deeply on it. whether it be the bible or some other philosophy.

i read the bible and i meditate on it, and i'm extremely different from normal people.

as for eastern meditation... probably not... it'll just make you more relaxed...

Maybe its just them who are abnormal. Meditating is suppose to focus you and keep you centered and if anything that would make you everything but abnormal

Could be, it is not making you weird, it is just you may be seeing things different then your friends, and they think that your weird cause of it. To meditate you become one with yourself, soul, body, mind, etc. You also learn to clear your mind, and think more clearly. So that could be what they are seeing and you just don't notice it.

No. People that meditate are already weird - the meditating just helps them deal with it.

Yes, it does. But that's okay because everybody is a little weird in one way or another. I'm weird, you're weird, everybody that answered this question is weird. Go for it!! Meditation is good for you!!
