I am african american and have dark skin....the guys at my school are attracted to lighter skin girls and it's really hard to get them 2 like me because of this...I want to know if theres any skin lightner or shot that i can get that goes into my blood stream and decrease the amount of melanin my skin produces.

I wouldn't want to change to please anybody. be yourself and a wonderful person will come along for you. I am certain you are beautiful even with the darker skin.

I' am a light skinned African American and it isn't all that great. Be proud of your skin color because you will never get skin color just like Beyonce and Halle Berry. Because Halle Berry is mixed(black/white) and Beyonce is just a naturally light skinned black person. Remember African Americans comes in all shades from Beyonce to Venus Williams. Besides, skin lightener creams don't work effectively and may cause damage to your skin. Just accept yourself for who you are and be true to yourself. You shouldn't change yourself or your appearance for any guy, one day a guy will love you for you.
Note:
Besides, Most African American celebrities aren't really that light skinned it is just the makeup, digital photo touch ups, and the right lighting that make them appear lighter, such as Beyonce and Tyra Banks. Don't let their appearance fool you.

You can't be serious?! If they are worried about the color of your skin, move on!!! I am a medium skinned woman, I wish I was darker! I love my black skin, and you should do the same. Why not look for some sisters that you can relate to...? Gabrielle Union, Keisha Knight Pulliam, Alec Wec, Iman, Naomi Campbell, Oprah...need I go on, there are plenty of beautiful black women, that are darker than Beyonce' and Halle

I would not recommend you to use skin lightener's. Many of these have a lot of mercury which is not good for your body and could cause some cancers. Also when you use the lighteners, your skin gets burnt easily by the sun, leaving you with different shades of colour since most of the top skin which protects your skin has been removed by bleach. Your skin is beautiful the way it is. I don't think Halle Berry and Beyonce are light skinned because of bleaching their skins. They have some white blood in them.

First girlfriend , i want to say if guys like light skinned girl at your school it's because they feel inferior to the white race and they don't appreciate themselves as black men.You should concentrate on other aspect of your personality (intelligence and self worth) and accentuate the positive.Like you eyes or lips.Wear a skirt if you have nice legs.Do nice hairstyles if you have nice hair.Believe me you have attention from guys other than the loosers at your school in no time.I'm dark skinned and proud of it !!!

This is a good question, and i thank you for asking it. Because behind that sweet smile, fake happiness, and cuteness (hey admit it, we all do it) secretly you are wishing your skin is just like her's*.....
These "her's" are every girl's worst enemy; ironically every girl has one.
Beyonce and Halle Berry are celebrities. Though they are talented, they aren't that* talented that they are perfect at everything. (<=== important fact to remember!)
So, it's the Guys at you school eh? Well, believe it or not, high school doesn't last for ever, and either do these guys in your life. Everything you learn in high school you have to spend the rest of you life unlearning. i mean, in the real world, take colllege for example, it doesn't matter how you dress to class (no one wears make-up (GASP!!!)).
Just chill ok? Any skin color is beautiful. No matter how dark or light it is.

Pleaser dont try any of these bleaches or creams, because you may end up ruining your skin. I am sure you are beautiful, and u may not feel it now, because the highschool years are the toughest to want to feel accepted by your peers. But I am begging you to understand lightenimg your skin isn't going to help the situation. Look at the great qualities you have to offer...noone is perfect and everyone feels they have flaws..it will always be something that bothers you. Learn to love yourself for who you are.

Well, i used to think all guys were into skinny girls, but i found one who likes me because i'm not. All guys are different and just as some actually prefer bigger girls, i'm sure there's plenty who prefer their girls dark. Besides, any man worth your love would love you for who you are,anyway. Afterall, "Those that matter don't mind and those that mind don't matter".
