in half-life 2 how do i get into one of the places in the beginning?

I'm not sure what you're asking exactly. But the beginning goes like this...

I assume you got off the train, went through the rotating gate, stood in line and had the guards stop you. Then you talk to Barney and he has you go in the other room to stack boxes to jump out the window. You go in the only door in that area and I think up some stairs if my memory serves me right. You come to a guard that tells you to pick up a can and throw it away, and go past the people waiting in the food line and go out the doors to that big cool courtyard area. I was looking around there for a while, so I'm thinking maybe this is where you're stuck. After you go out those doors, down the street to your right there's a dumpster that you can jump on and climb a ladder to get to the other side of the fence and drop down.
