I'm attracted to this guy and we have never really talked. We see each other alot around school but he is a year older than me and I am kind of shy around guys. From what I've heard from my friends that are on a team with him, he is pretty shy too. How do i start up a conversation with him, when the only time i see him is around all of our friends?

well you're lucky that you go to school with him because you have an opportunity to run into him a lot.
next time you see him, just make eye contact and smile and say hi.
do that everytime you run into him, then it will be easy to ask him "how's it going?" and he'll know who you are because you say hi to him everyday
