It says the opposite.

Exodus 20:12 Honour thy father and thy mother: that thy days may be long upon the land which the LORD thy God giveth thee.

Two places in the NT, Eph 6:1 and Col 3:20, deal with children obeying their parents. The verse in Ephesians relates back to the 10 Commandment verse that says "Honor your father and mother that it may go well with you and that you may enjoy long life on the earth." It never says that your days will be shortened.

not quite... almost

in Ephesians it points out "children obey your parents this is the first commandment with a promise that you days may be long"

see the 10 commandments in Exodus 20

another commandment like it is if you come upon a birds nest you can take the eggs but leave the mother, so that your days may be long in the land... kinda an ecological verse?

some Rabbis said this was because God wanted to emphasize keeping the commands from the greatest tothe least

It is incorporated in the 10 commandments.

Honor your father and your mother, that your days may be long upon the land which the Lord your God is giving you.

Stress of any kind shortens our lives.

Obedience to all laws removes the stress.

It was part of the Law given to Moses, where God specifically said "Honor your father and mother in order that your days many prove long upon the ground that Yahweh your God is giving you". Exodus 20:12.

Deuteronomy 21:18-21 (New International Version)

18 If a man has a stubborn and rebellious son who does not obey his father and mother and will not listen to them when they discipline him, 19 his father and mother shall take hold of him and bring him to the elders at the gate of his town. 20 They shall say to the elders, "This son of ours is stubborn and rebellious. He will not obey us. He is a profligate and a drunkard." 21 Then all the men of his town shall stone him to death. You must purge the evil from among you. All Israel will hear of it and be afraid.
