Try running a coffee pot of 1/2 vinegar and 1/2 water through the whole cycle.
Should clean out any deposits...just make sure that you run pure water through it afterward before you make coffee again.

I use white vinegar. Put one part to 10 of water. So if you have a 12-cup pot, put in 1 cup vinegar and 10 cups water. I use the markings on the pot to measure. Run it through three or four times. Wipe off the surface where the water runs through because that can get really mucked up. After running the vinegar through, run plain water through until it runs totally clear. By then it should work a lot better. I usually do this about once a month or every six weeks. You don't want to let the stuff build up again.

It might have hard water build up . Go to www.gevalia.com and buy there clean caf . it is a cleaner for coffee makers . You can also try running white vinegar through it but it just takes forever to clean away the smell . Another thing you can try is to take some baking soda lemon juice and water and run through it . I love the clean caf though if you start using that do it once a month . You will have better tasting coffee also . Good luck .

My Mr. Coffeemaker says,, put a filter in the filter basket, fill the carafe 1/2 way with white vinegar, pour it in the water reservoir, turn it on. turn it off when half has run through, let it sit 10 minutes, then let the rest run through. Run a couple of pots of clear water to finish getting the vinegar out.
If you don't want the temporary smell of vinegar, they sell coffee maker cleaners too. get in the habit of doing it at the first of every month, and your coffee will be a lot better tasting.

I assume you have some scale build up on a 12 cup coffe pot. Use a blend of 6 cups water and 6 cups white vinegar. Put a filter in to catch the scale. Turn coffee pot on and run until 6 cups are left. Let it sit for 15 minute to soften up the scale. Turn on coffee pot again. Replace filter and refill with water to flush out the vinegar smell. You may have to repeat.

You don't say what brand. I'd not recommend the white vinegar / CLR solution for a hot-tank solution, ie, Bunn.
For the Bunn machines, I'd drop the nozzle (unscrews) and clean that out. And, most Bunn machines come with a long wire spring thingy to "ream" out that water line.
If you run vinegar / whatever thru a Bunn, then you're gonna have to to along series of flushes. There is a little hot water tank in there that holds about a quart (liter) and if you get that all contaminated w/ (something other than water) then you're gonna be pouring water thru that machine for a long time (hint, turn it on its face to drain it completely).

Run a solution of half water and half vinegar through it a few times, then just water 3 or 4 times after that to get rid of the vinegar.

White Vinegar. Straight. If this does not work get a de-calcifying, de-liming cleaner such as CLR, to dissolve the mineral deposits that are clogging the coffee maker. That's what they are, by the way.

Run water and white vinegar though it a couple times and then run clear water through it about 4 more times. That should do it.
