Are you asking what you can put the corn starch/water slurry into to thicken? Sauces, gravies, pie fillings, and puddings are some examples of what corn starch can thicken without adding any additional flavor.

Corn starch will dissolve in anything wet. Rule of thumb when using cornstarch is mix it with cold liquid (water) then add it to you hot liquid (gravy or pudding). Heat to boiling and remove from heat to thicken. You get the best thickening power by doing this (also no lumps).

more water. any liquid can. The water in your corn starch and water mixture already did disolve the corn starch.

Yes, cornstarch will dissolve in anything wet. However, there is more to it. The liquid must be cold in order for the cornstarch to properly dissolve without lumps. Cold water, cream, broth, anything can be the liquid for cornstarch. If you use warm water, not only does it not thicken correctly, it also gets those annoying starchy lumps in the sauce
