Do dogs feel wind chill? They don't sweat, and their skin is mostly covered by fur. I have seen dogs in the back pf pickup trucks in 30 degree weather and they didn't seem to be suffering.

Yes, wind chill is more deadly to an out side animal than cold. A dogs fur will protect it from cold but, wind chill depletes the body or warmth.

yes dogs do sweat cause my min pins in the summer sweat all the time, you can tell when a dog is sweating when a dog pants then you can tell it is sweating and yes a dog does feel wind chills cause a dog shivers so then it is cold, and do you feel the wind chill when you have a coat on? its the same thing a dog has a coat on and it still gets cold and shivers

The reason the lady said the wind doesn't cool down Ellie like it does us, is dogs don't sweat, and that's what cools people down and that's what the wind helps. Like when you get out of the shower, and you're wet, you REALLY can feel the wind right? Well compared to dogs, we're always "wet" so to speak, and dogs are always "dry". But yes, dogs sweat through their nose and foot-pads, so to cool the dog down, standing in water would feel really good to them.

I would think so. A person can feel wind chill even with a coat on, so I would think that it is the same with dogs.

Windchill is felt due combination of high humidity and wind.

A long haired dog will do better than a short haired dog. but it will feel the effect from the cold and from the windchill.

Have you watched a wet dog? You can tell they are feeling cold right away.

Dogs do sweat. When you see a dog panting, he is sweating. They do get cold but their fur acts as insulation so they can handle much colder temperatures than we can.

Yes they do. But they are mammals with a very heavy fur coat. So they are not effected by the wind as much as you and me.

And dogs dont sweat because they dont have pores, so they pant.
