Jesus said in Matthew 5:32, "But I tell you that anyone who divorces his wife, except for marital unfaithfulness, causes her to become an adulteress, and anyone who marries the divorced woman commits adultery."
That means any time they become intimate, they're committing adultery, right?
So how can they be Christians? Do they have to abstain from sex? Why do they need to be married, then?

Hmmm, well as one who has studied the christian religion with a morbid curiosity most of my life I will say that according to their own scripture....no they can not be christians. If they have read their scripture then they are willfully disobeying their god. However, you will repeatedly get "Jesus blood covers all sins" or "we are all sinners" as answers on this one. The ultimate "get out of jail free" card. Conveinence at it's best.

They can but they would be sinners and would not be able to enter into Heaven when they die.
In 1 Corinthians 6:9-10, Apostle Paul offers a list of sins that will keep a person out of Heaven. Among them is homosexual behavior. However, also listed among these is adultery. Also, in Luke 16:18 Christ defined a man or woman who has divorced and remarried as also being an adulterer.
I wonder how many Christians know anyone who goes to their church that is divorced and remarried.

The fact is there is nothing above love. It is the supreme bliss. Ifa man likes a woman irrespective of cast, creed and religion, and they unite in all possible forms, they are doing a supreme act.
The heart or conscious is a form of God. If it comes from within the heart the bell rings in the mind. That is supreme self.
Did u know that the Bible has changed many a times to cater to the few esoteric people?
DO NOT TAKE LIFE SERIOUSLY U WILL NOT COME OUT OF IT ALIVE.

There are Christians that have committed much worse sins then adultery. It's not about us. It's about Jesus. The law is our standard. Everything boils down to our intentions. We are GODs children being conformed to the image of Jesus. With GOD all things are possible. Remember the woman caught in the very act of adultery? What did Jesus tell her?
"Neither do I accuse you." "Go and sin no more."
So I answer the same. Go and sin no more. May the Lord richly bless you.

Yes. Marriage is not about sex!
Marriage is a covenant between a man and a woman. The two must love enough to sacrifice ALL for the other. This includes avoiding conjugal relations if that is what is necessary.
Agape Love is Christian Married Love. Not Eros Love, or Philia Love.
Investigate True Love. Your answers will be obvious.

I know what your talking about. Biblicly, any man that lays with a divorsed woman, unless the divorse is for infadelaty, is an adulturer. Now this is old testament law and teaching, and jesus did not come to abolish the law but he came to fulfill it. However, he can forgive you for the divorse (if it was for any other reasion besides infadelaty) and With his forgiveness you can live happily with your new man and not commit the great sin of adultry.

The word Christian means little Christ. We are supposed to live our lives as Christ has set as an example, but we are ALL sinners! That is why God sent Jesus to die on the cross for our sins, otherwise we would all go to hell. Even as Christians we sin everyday. The one and only way to heaven, according to the bible is to believe and accept Jesus as the Son of God, our Savior. You have to believe that Jesus is your Savior, and that HE died on the cross for your sins, your sins will be forgiven, if you ask for forgiveness. There are people that have murdered people, that are going to heaven! God knew we could never meet his standards of holiness. We would all go to hell, all of us, for one thing or another. Who are we to place judgment? We will answer for our wrong doings when we get to heaven, but divorce will not keep you out of heaven if you are a true Christian, read the Bible, Jesus shed his blood for us to get there, as long as you believe that, you are going!!!!!

well if the women was divorced because her previous partner was unfaithful its ok. besides being a christian does not mean you do not sin anymore but it does not mean you have a free license to sin you will have to reap what you sow and maybe lose out on many blessings if you sin greatly as a believer in christ.

Once you are baptized you are a Christian for life, even if you leave the Christian religion or do not practice the faith.
Being a true Christian is not easy. Obeying God's laws is not always easy. We are blessed to have a God Who understands our weaknesses and Who forgives us.

To get the best answer, you need to give a senario with more details, because it depends on the circumstances.
(for example; see the exception noted in the verse you quoted)
