Which do you buy and why? I'm looking into both and I want HDTV with 1080 resolution which I can find on either. The picture looks better on most plasmas, but I want reliablity too. Is there a best brand for either, or the "perfect choice" between the two? I need help!

I would go with DLP, but it will be much more bulkier than plasma. DLP isn't flat screen like plasma or LCD.

I like DLP because it doesn't produce as much heat as a plasma. I don't have to worry about burn-in as much (most TVs have some kind of burn-in prevention, but with plasma, it's still using hot gas to produce the picture, so there's a chance that it will burn into the screen). It's also cheaper than plasma of the same size.

Just bought a hdtv and I decided on CRT as the best all round
set sumsung has a thin profile tube set w/1080 HDMI and fiber optic sound for around 800.00 dollars that i think is superior to both DLP and Plasma with years of development behind them
but it was limited to 30inches .you want larger I still prefer DLP but they are best with double chips that start at around 15,000
dollars as opposed to the home models at 2 and 3 thousand.
We have Plasma at work and I can't tell the difference in them and the CRT that I have at home . Also keep in mind plasma and DLP vary sometimes on quality just between brands and how they are hooked up .you may have to kick in another 150. bucks for the high Quality connectors that might not come included .
good luck in your pursuit.
