I downloaded an old abandonware game, and I'm trying to run it, but I'm inexperienced with MSDos- I can open it and that's about it! The game site tells me to:
"Open a DOS prompt and navigate to the directory where you unpacked the files.

Run the following command:
RAR x -v -y lords2.001"

The directory where the files are is:
C:\Documents and Settings\Owner\My Documents\Downloads\Apps\LordsOfTheRealm2

Please give me a step-by-step on how to do this! Please DON'T just give me a link to a site explaining Dos commands -- this is not helpful.

From the windows start button click on the "run..." icon.
In the window that pops open enter in the input box: cmd then click on ok.
In the cmd window you should see a command prompt with a blinking cursor. This is your DOS prompt. To change the directory use the cd command. Example:
> cd "C:\Documents and Settings\Owner\My Documents\Downloads\Apps\..."

Then run your command:
> RAR blah ...

You have to install a console version of a RAR utility to uncompress the files. Search for RAR for DOS.
