It should. There is a standardized size for the mount that is on every digi/video camera I have ever seen.

Even though you can use any tripod, there are 2 basic types. One for video, one for still. Spend as much as possible, and get a quality unit. I spent over $500.00 for mine, but it is very solid and is worth every cent. You don't want to put a thousand dollar camera on a cheap tripod.

Amazon have some video tripods c/w head on your budget, yet i do no longer understand how good they are. in accordance to the Velbon website, the DV-7000 can help a load of four.5 Kg, so the XM2 should not be a concern.

MOST cameras do have a tripod or mono pod hole at the bottom of the camera. If you have a cheap camera it might not have one or if its an ultra thin camera it might not have one. All camcorders do have it though.

yeah all tripods work with cameras / camcorders, waht you want to look for are the tripods that have detachable tops for eash access/removal of the camera.
