We sometimes have to walk through our own judgementalism to get to that mercy. Perhaps we have been wronged by someone else-grievously wronged. And we man need some time to judge and to scorn. Sooner or later, however, we will need to make a fundamental choice. Will we move from our rage to forgiveness, and thus make it possible to move on? Or will we hold onto the hurt, thus freezing ourselves in the pain and watching it harden into resentment?
Forgiveness is not easy to accomplish. In fact, without God's help it might not be possible at all. If there is unresolved anger or resentment underneath our troubles, we can call on God for the strength to forgive. It is the beginning of healing.

As God has been merciful to us so we must endeavor to be merciful to others. It is not a human thing to be naturally merciful. It is a characteristic reflected ultimately by the mercy of God through the sacrifice of Jesus. Keeping our minds focused on that wondrous mercy on a daily basis helps us to internalize and reflect that mercy towards our fellow citizens.

What God is merciful?

Have you read the Bible? there is no mercy in eradicating an entire culture... let alone several (just because they happened to be living where the Israelites claimed God promised them they could live)

.......................

Oh, there was that whole stopping Abraham in sacrificing Isaac thing...

But, of course, it was HE who gave the order in the First place. This isn't mercy, this is egotism and megalomania - "showing off" ones powers.

(Sadly, I liken this to the current administration in the states)

WTF? God isn't merciful. Not at all. He ordered moses to murder some 2,000 people that lost hope because moses was gone for 10 years.

GOD IS AN ***HOLE.
