I have not read all of Ellen White's writings, but I'm aware that different researchers have noted that she has contradicted herself often. Why is she viewed as a prophet by the Seventh Day Adventists if she has been wrong, and especially if she is known for asking that she NOT be called a prophet?
All the prophets in the Bible have openly stated they were speaking for God, and have asked NOT to be called a Prophet. Were there any female prophets in the Bible? Lastly, is there a website which lists all the contraditions others claim to have found in her writings so that I can read and judge for myself? Thanks.

EDIT: The 1st sentence in the 2nd paragraph was typed incorrectly. It should have read: All the prophets in the Bible have openly stated they were speaking for God, and have NEVER asked "not" to be called Prophet.

Martin all religions have some truth in them. So it's not unusual to agree with some beliefs, and reject others. And yes in comparison with most Christian religions, I find that SDA's have many teachings that are in agreement with the Bible.
However, I'm still learning about the religion. If I find further inconsistencies then I'll revise my statement. Right now, the Ellen White teachings are the only RED FLAG that stands out to me.

As a former SDA, I never read none of her writings. I did have strange feelings at the time because I heard things that were very wierd in the church about Ellen G. White teachings like having a {JER.10}christmas tree when they were against Christmas(Christmas being pagan = GAL.4:8-10). As time went on another former SDA told me to look up Plagarist Ellen G. White

As I was still in the church I was puzzled so I investigated further and found a site that has some truth and some error in their resources(some writings was not correct as a SDA told me from 1st site).

I did check out a couple resources from a SDA that had her books and found them true in the source(from 1st site)--oh they try to justify her actions so I asked God what to do. I seen lots of things such as: not believing in the pagan days, but celebrating Christmas in the SDA School as well as the church as other contradictions. He (2Tim.1:9)called me out of this church and into his (Eph.4:4; 5:27)church(LCG). I also became aware lately that the early SDA's did not believe in the trinity at first, but did change their teaching later on.

Also the church tells you, you can eat clean meat as stated in the Bible, but Ellen G. White tells you to be a vegetarian(not to eat butter, rich cakes and etc., but the church does at potlucks or celebrations eat rich cakes)-not to eat flesh meat. What about marriage, Ellen G. White codemns that too. Is there a verse in the Bible about this action; look at 1TIM.4:3 carefully. SDA left the true church as stated in 1TIM.4:1-2; ACTS 20:30.

Counterfeit Christianity is probably the best description I can give for a cult. Counterfeit Christianity is an imitation of real Christianity. Bible terms like "Jesus Christ, Resurrection, Salvation, and Atonement" are used by the Cult, but the various cult groups have assigned entirely different meanings to these terms.
Like counterfeit money which is sometimes difficult to detect, so it is difficult to detect counterfeit Christianity, since it looks like the real thing. Experts examining counterfeit money often hold it up to a strong light and look for identifying marks. Counterfeit Christianity also has identifying marks, which can be seen when, held up to an even stronger light, the light of God's word, the bible.
We are at an advantage if we know what to expect from a cult. Cultists are very well trained to appear "Christian", and indeed believe they are the true churches, and you need the deliverance! Therefore, be bold and ask the question, "do you believe the group you represent is the only true church on the face of the earth?"
If they reply that they are, or if they are evasive, making remarks like "Well, every church has a measure of truth but...", you have made an early detection of a Cultist.
Every true Christian, if asked the same question, regardless of his denomination, would reply that the true church is comprised of believers in the Lord Jesus Christ, and HE (not some organization) is THE WAY, THE TRUTH, AND THE LIFE, (John 14:6). No legitimate denomination would claim that they alone and their members have salvation exclusively, but the cults (the counterfeits) do.

I don't know why you would agree with most of the 7th Day Adventist's teaching if you recognize that Ellen White was a false prophetess. It was she who led that group into a fall from grace and back into the curse of keeping the law.
Galatians 5:4 You are severed from Christ, you who would be justified by the law; you have fallen away from grace.
Here's a link for you to find out more about her and the SDA'a http://ellenwhite.org/
As to there being female prophets in the Bible, there is no woman in the Bible with an ongoing prophetic ministry. There are a few women who have been given a prophetic word from God to pass along and one of the gifts of the Holy Spirit is the gift of prophecy.
Acts 21:8 On the next day we departed and came to Caesarea, and we entered the house of Philip the evangelist, who was one of the seven, and stayed with him. (9) He had four unmarried daughters, who prophesied.

i'm no longer SDA, attended SDA church many years decrease back. The seventh Day Adventists do not worship Ellen White. That being stated they do cope with her writings on the point of Paul, Peter, the Prophets and so on. the challenge is that the canon of scripture is closed. at the same time as there is not any longer some thing incorrect with writing a e book depending on scripture like "The Sabbath contained in the Crossfire" like Bachiocchi wrote. (notwithstanding I disagree with a lot of his different stuff) the challenge is at the same time as those writings are higher to scriptural aspect.

Isayah 24:5 The earth also is defiled because of the inhabitants of it, because they have transgressed the Laws, changed the ordinance, and broken the everlasting covenant.
6 Because of this, the curse has devoured the earth, and they who dwell therein are desolate; therefore, the inhabitants of the earth are burned, and few men left.
The Curse comes because of not keeping the Laws of Yahweh.
Daniyl 7:25—
And he will speak great words against Yahweh, and will wear out; mentally attack to cause to fall away, the saints of Yahweh, and think to change the Feasts and holy days, and Laws; and they will be given into his hand until a time, and times, and the dividing of time.
This religion changes Yahweh's Laws. Remember, she devours the whole earth which means she has changed the Laws of Yahweh in the minds of all people on earth. That's exactly what the last revelation given to mankind shows is the case for this time period. The teaching that mankind does not need to keep or adhere to the inspired Laws of Yahweh has been placed in the minds of all who dwell on the earth in this generation. They have been taught to accept and partake in a mixture of righteousness and evil, which is the same teaching Cain, being led by Satan, presented.
Genesis 3:1-7—
1 Now the serpent was more subtle and crafty than any beast of the field which Yahweh had made. And she said to the woman; Has Yahweh indeed said: You shall not eat of every tree of the garden?
2 And the woman said to the serpent; We may eat the fruit of the trees of the garden;
3 But of the fruit of the tree which is in the midst of the garden, Yahweh has said: You shall not eat it, nor shall you touch it, or you will die.
4 And the serpent said to the woman; You will not surely die.
5 For Yahweh knows that in the day you eat of the fruit of the tree that is in the midst of the garden, your eyes will be opened, and you will be as gods (elohim), knowing righteousness and evil.
6 So when the woman saw that the tree was desirable for food, that it was pleasant to the eyes, and a tree desirable to make one wise, she took of its fruit and ate. She also gave to her husband with her, and he ate.
7 Then the eyes of both of them were opened, and they realized that they had sinned; they had violated Yahweh's Laws. Because they had not kept Yahweh's Laws, they were afraid.

Revelation 22: 18,19
18 “I am bearing witness to everyone that hears the words of the prophecy of this scroll: If anyone makes an addition to these things, God will add to him the plagues that are written in this scroll; 19 and if anyone takes anything away from the words of the scroll of this prophecy, God will take his portion away from the trees of life and out of the holy city, things which are written about in this scroll.
1 Corinthians 13:8,9,10
8 Love never fails. But whether there are [gifts of] prophesying, they will be done away with; whether there are tongues, they will cease; whether there is knowledge, it will be done away with. 9 For we have partial knowledge and we prophesy partially; 10 but when that which is complete arrives, that which is partial will be done away with.
These two scriptures plainly state that the Bible is complete. No one needs to add anything, or take anything away from it.
1 Cor 13:8-10 clearly tells us that the girfts of prohesying and speaking in tongues were done away with many years ago.
Read these scriptures in your own Bible, and make up your own mind. That's what I did.
Ciao :)

Ellen White had been accepted as someone who is the Lord's messenger, but prior to her the Lord had called two others; William Foy and Hazen Foss, but they refused to proclaim the light that was shown them.
As with the Bible, there are also scholars of the world who claim that the Bible contradicts itself, but we are clearly told that it is the Inspired word of God. EG White wrote what she was given in vision from the Lord, and at times some of her own thoughts, and at other times she copied the writing of others she felt had the thought she was trying to convey. There are many who would like to find fault with her writings just as in the case of the Bible scholars, but Adventists have held her messages to the Remnant church as prophetic none the less.
Here's a quote from Selected Messages, Vol 1:
Early in my youth I was asked several times, Are you a prophet? I have ever responded, I am the Lord's messenger. I know that many have called me a prophet, but I have made no claim to this title. My Saviour declared me to be His messenger. "Your work," He instructed me, "is to bear My word. Strange things will arise, and in your youth I set you apart to bear the message to the erring ones, to carry the word before unbelievers, and with pen and voice to reprove from the Word actions that are not right. Exhort from the Word. I will make My Word open to you. It shall not be as a strange language. In the true eloquence of simplicity, with voice and pen, the messages that I give shall be heard from one who has never learned in the schools. My Spirit and My power shall be with you.
"Be not afraid of man, for My shield shall protect you. It is not you that speaketh: it is the Lord that giveth the messages of warning and reproof. Never deviate from the truth under any circumstances. Give the light I shall give you. The messages for these last days shall be written in books, and shall stand immortalized, to testify against those who have once rejoiced in the light, but who have been led to give it up because of the seductive influences of evil."
Why have I not claimed to be a prophet?--Because in these days many who boldly claim that they are prophets are a reproach to the cause of Christ; and because my work includes much more than the word "prophet" signifies. {1SM 32.4}
As for a website listing any contradictions, I would encourage you to checkout:
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Ellen_G._White
I would also encourage you before you judge, to ask the Lord to guide your thoughts and to convict your heart.
