No, but it should be treated quickly and make sure you wash your hands and the dog's bedding often.

Ringworm is a fungal infection on this skin, more properly called dermatophytosis. In humans it looks like a ring on the skin, but in pets it can really look like anything, most commonly just a bare, scaly, dry, patch of skin with thin or no hair. It may or may not be itchy. There are different types of ringworm fungi that your pet can get but they are contagious to people. The chances of you contracting the fungal infection is based largely on your own immunity to it.
You need to take your dog to the vet and get it tested to figure out if it really is ringworm (other things can look a lot like ringworm, mange, fleas, allergies, ...) and get treatment. A local infection only in a small area can often be cured with a topical ointment or shampoo, while a systemic infection may need more aggressive oral treatment.
The infection may go away on its own in about 4 months, but in that time the dog and household members can continually be reinfected, so treatment is certainly recommended.
See your vet!

ringworm is a fungus-it just invades the top layer of skin. It would not cause death. Be careful, you can catch it. Go get meds from the vet.

Yes, if it is not treated by a vet, it can cause massive skin infections and your dog can die from it. Also you know you can catch it from your dog.

Sorry, I read that first as round worms.
ring worm could be mange....have a skin scrape done. If it's localized,. a topical treatment can be applied, it it's generalized (in more than 1 area) Oral Ivermectin may be needed for several months. Either way, have it looked at. My dog had a generalized case, and if not caught in time, you cannot treat it and have to put your dog down.
