Matthew 5:32 says "But I tell you that anyone who divorces his wife, except for marital unfaithfulness, causes her to become an adulteress, and anyone who marries the divorced woman commits adultery."

Jesus is very clear here that marrying a divorced woman is equivalent to adultery.

QUESTIONS
So is every man who marries (and remains monogamously married) to a divorced woman committing adultery?

Therefore should he (and she) be prevented from preaching and membership in the ordained ministry?

What is the policy in your denomination?

I'm Catholic, and the Catholic Church is virtually the only, if not THE only, Christian community to take the words of our Lord seriously. We do have married priests and deacons, and men who have attempted marriage, even a civil marriage, "with a woman bound by a valid marriage" are perpetually impeded from being ordained.

Roman Catholic.
If a man marries a divorced woman that is adultery.
Adultery is an obstacle to ministry. Mortal sin.

Unrepentant Mortal Sin prevents a man from ministry.

Are you aware sir that Matthew is written to a Jewish audience? Do you know what that means concerning this verse, the definition of wife? That is the significance of why Jesus used the word fornication earlier in that same verse. So yes, he could be a minister in our church.
