You can absolutely forgive someone after they pass away...you are not necessarily looking to forgive them so much as you are trying to bring closure to the relationship you had with the person and if you feel true forgiveness in your heart it doesn't matter if you got to tell he/she or not...have a good day

Yes, forgiving someone is for YOUR healing, not theirs. It is a letting go of hate in your heart. Do people not understand this? Like your doing them a favor or something by forgiving them. The person that harms you needs to ask God for forgiveness, it is God they have sinned against, not you. Sure it is proper and healing to also ask you for forgiveness, but it is certainly not essential.

No, it is not too late to forgive. In fact, if you are a Christian (you didn't say) it is your duty to forgive as you yourself were forgiven. Let go of anger and be healed fully.

Not too late. It would be ideal to forgive before death, however, forgiving someone is more important for the person
that is forgiving rather than the "forgivee".

Yes it is possible. It's about you not wanting to carry around feelings of hurt and anger anymore. I hope you don't take this the wrong way, but sometimes that's the only way one can forgive horrible mistreatment. For me anyway.

Whether a person who has passed on is aware of your forgiveness or not, it is good for us to forgive.

Nope; forgiveness can be granted any time...whether they are still alive or if they've died.
