Although in many diet and eating plans, it is considered a starch b/c of the high number of carbohydrates in contains. But it's worth it, b/c Sweet Potatoes are chock full of vitamins, minerals, and fiber!

Technically it is not even a potato. It is a rhysome. Like ginger it is a part of the root system that swells in order to store water and sugar.

Yes it is a vegetable , Starchy vegetable, but has fiber, minerals and vitamins. It and orange vegetable with contains beta carotene.I would definitely put it in your diet.I eat it once a week.

It is a carb, but it is a good carb. It has much more fiber and that makes it better for you. Also the beta-carotene in it is a plus. I'm a diabetic and this is something my doctor wants me to add to my diet a couple of times a week.
