mainly worry about losing somebody you love one day and becoming a widow at 30

Probably. Many types of cancers are not a big deal if treated early (skin). Even if it was a "major" cancer, you never know what you'll be dealt in life, and you have to take some chances sometimes if you like the person.

I wonder why the hesitation. Hope you dont think its contagious. If it is because you think they might die after you've fallen for them...why miss out on a great thing? It's better to have loved and lost than to not have loved at all. Go for it. Live life. Dont be afraid of it. Don't let fear of the thorns deny you the smell of the roses.

True love cannot be phased by health issues. I understand that it would be devastating to lose someone you love to cancer, but the adage is "Better to have loved and lost than to have never loved at all".

your talking about a DATE not marriage, you might be surprised what you might learn from the experience. You might even be turning down the chance to be with the love of your life, even if it is a short time. Give it a shot!!

Yes I think I would. My only reservations would be bringing someone into my childrens life that may have another reoccurrance. I have dealt with cancer in my family and its hard.

Why wouldn't I (if I wasn't already married)? Being prone to cancer doesn't affect their personality or make them any lesser of a human being. Everyone deserves to find happiness.

Yeees. It would hurt me sometimes to know that they could die any day, but that would only make me want to be with them more. I'm a sucker for sick, helpless people/animals.
