This is a question for my Healthy Active Living class at school.

"I'm a teenager. I like to do ecstacy because its a fairly safe drug. Is there anything that can go wrong when I trip on ecstacy?"

I would really appreciate some information i know that tons of stuff can go wrong when you do ecstacy but i don't know why or what can go wrong exactly! Thanks!

Are you stupid?E is not a safe grug.I don't know who the hell told you this. You say it's safe yet in the next sentence you say you know tons can go wrong.Obviously your brain is fried.Stop doing it before you get a bad batch and die.If that don't make you think than maybe this will.^ yrs ago I was doing E.One nite while high and not thinking clearly cause I was on drugs I had unprotected sex and 2 months later I tested positive for HIV.Stop now before you go and do something as dumb as I did.Because now I have to take pills everyday to keep me alive. So grow up and STOP DOING DRUGS>They are so not cool!!!!!

MDMA (3,4-methylenedioxy-N-methylamphetamine), most commonly known by the street names ecstasy/extasy, E, X, or XTC, is a semisynthetic entactogen of the phenethylamine family, whose primary effect is believed to be the stimulation of secretion, as well as inhibition of re-uptake, of large amounts of serotonin as well as dopamine and norepinephrine in the brain, inducing a general sense of openness, empathy, energy, euphoria, and well-being. Tactile sensations are enhanced for some users, making physical contact with others more pleasurable. Contrary to popular belief MDMA generally does not necessarily produce aphrodisiac effects. Its reported ability to facilitate self-examination with reduced fear may prove useful in some therapeutic settings, leading in 2001 to permission from the United States FDA for testing in patients with post-traumatic stress disorder in conjunction with psychotherapy. It was classed in an entirely new category of drug action as an "empathogen" or sometimes known as "entactogen".

Dehydration is a risk among users who are physically active and forget to drink water, as the drug may mask one's normal sense of exhaustion and thirst. Hypertension is another risk factor given the increased cardiac load experienced while under the effects. The effects of long-term use in humans are largely unknown and the subject of much controversy - particularly with regard to the risks of severe long-term depression as a result of a reduction in the natural production of serotonin. Excessive or heavy use would likely cause mild to moderate damage to the nervous system. Light or moderate responsible use would likely cause mild to no harm, especially when combined with neuroprotectants. Addictive personality types have been known to abuse the drug as they would with alcohol, tobacco, or other drugs, yet a UK study showed with fewer harmful effects than these.
