You MUST use a Shampoo and Conditioner formulated for color treated hair. The reason for this.... is because colored hair has a different PH (acidity level) than virgin hair. If you do not use a shampoo and conditioner formulated with a PH for treating colored hair, it physically alters the state of your hair allowing color to literally seep out. Another major caution to take with color treated hair is the sun and environment. I recommend all of my color clients to use a leave in color conditioner after shampooing and conditioning every other day, as you do for you skin. You protect your skin in the sun, so why not your hair. You pay a lot for it to look good, and should care for it to keep it looking good. Speaking from loads of experience and most importantly results.
Hope this helps

Don't wash it with harsh soaps. Use color-treated shampoo, or shampoos made for your certain color. It isn't necisary to wash your hair everyday. After rinsing the dye from it do not wash for 48 hours- this will allow the color to set. Stay away from hair sprays and gels. That's all I know to help

When you get your hair colored you shouldn't wash it for 48 hours to allow the color time to "set".

Wash your hair with a shampoo for colored (dyed) hair as well as use a conditioner for colored (dyed) hair. Stay away from hot water...use slightly warm water since the hot water will open the cuticle and wash away the color you just had put in.

Use a good quality colour locking shampoo/conditioner. Use a high gloss spray to give it shine, and get it touched up regularly.
