bulletproof, plastic bed never rusts, full frame, the 4.0l has been the best warranty rescently for Ford........However, the 2007 is much improved .....smoother , faster, better fuel economy, and based on the lastest generation platform.
Make sure the oil was changed and the vehicle not abused.......then buy it

Great vehicle!
in '04 some of them were built as Flex-Fuel vehicles too.
Those that are can run off of regular unleaded gas and/or any combination of E85 (85% ethanol - 15% gas )
there are 2 ways to tell if it is :
1- open the fuel filler door & look for the label on the inside of the door
2- read the vehicle identification number - if the 8th character is a K then it is definately.
E85 fuel isn't readily available all over the country but it is in the Midwest. & it is usually cheaper than gas.
It burns cleaner (better for the environment) but it also burns quicker so your mileage is decreased.
I've had alot of experiance with E85 & only lost 1 mile per gallon with an '04 SportTrac.

These are great trucks. I worked for Ford and only had one complaint from our customers who had the Sport Trac - poor fuel mileage. Maybe this helps - I hope to buy a used Sport Trac from one of my former customers when she is done with it (her lease ends next year).
