Also when traveling in the Philippines, if your passport is stolen do you go to an Embassy for help ? If not, who would you go to for help with so many corrupt law enforcements ???

Or at least I am told of the corruption... I know nothing of them otherwise.

The embassy is on Roxas Blvd. along Manila Bay. You used to be able to find it by following the line of visa applicants who were lined up 10 city blocks waiting to get to the gate each morning. But I understand they pretty much require appointments these days.

I don't think, other than a shoulder to cry on, that the embassy will give you much help when it comes to corrupt Filipino cops. Everybody in the embassy knows about it already. It's a fact of life in the Philippines. It's nothing personal. You're a "rich kano." You can afford it.
