So there is this girl(I'll say she's about 30) where I work. She's good looking and single but I've never been close to her(I'm nearly 50). She's very popular with guys her age but I don't feel like I have a lot in common with her. All of a sudden out of the blue she starts talking very seductively to me and wanting me to call her. I never thought I would have had a shot with her. I know it sounds like a no brainer but I just don't know quite how to take her...I mean is she serious?

Best advise on this is what my dad told me about ten years ago. DON'T S**T WHERE YOU SLEEP!! Everyone does tho, and that being said. Make sure you bring your A game, because everyone you see at work will know all about it eventually!!!

You have to assume she is serious unless you can think of an ulterior motive for this. Do you have any authority over her? Are you in charge of getting her raises or other benefits? If this is the case, she could be using you.

If you are married (which I hope you are not), she could just be looking for a discreet fling without any attachment.

If she is 30, she is too old to just be joking around about being interested in you just to be mean. She may just find you attractive.

Barry, always dangerous to play at the workshop. If there's no problem with that (such as unequal power positions)and there are no company regs against dating, then go for it. Remember, if you don't ask the question, you've already accepted "No" as the answer. So ask away and let nature take its course. Good luck.

Playing at work is very unhealthy. I have seen a lot of good people fall into this trap and it never ends well

You are perfect for her. I see it all the time. I mean, your ages are a good mix. Of course everyone is different but I've definitely seen it work.

just talk and get to know her just in case you misinterpret her signals (guys do that a lot). then ask about her relationship status and ask her if she's looking for someone. ask her what age group she dates men. ask her would she ever consider dating a man around your age. if she denies then she's totally not into you.

Either she's serious or playing a joke on you. Give it a shot, but be careful and guard your heart.
