make my hair more manageable?

i'm a guy. my hair is not short but it is not really long either. Every time I wash my hair though, after it dries its really annoying and completely different and a mess. My girlfriend says try another conditioner - is this the solution?

I'm not obsessed with my hair but at least when i go out i would like it to not be a mess. I don't use gel or anything.

You need to use a hair control product or get a different hairstyle. I myself like TIGI's Small Talk. It only takes a tiny bit and my hair stays under control.
