My boyfriend's dog kept doing this and letting mine loose...until last week. I put an electric fence up around the edge of the fence, about 6-8" high. One zap from that and they all stay put in the yard. You can get a kit for about $30 with everything you need. It's a whole lot kinder than letting the dog get run over.

In some cases, if he digs in the one spot, you can put some of his poop in the hole and cover it up - they don't like it, so they won't dig there again. Why is he trying to get to the neighbours, do they have a dog also?

lol siome of these answers are funny but seriously

when u get the dog back in the yard; ASAP; take him/her to the hole ti dug rub its noise in the hole (not hard just enough to bug it) then smack the tip of its noise and say "BAD DOG"

i know it seems cruel but it does work and eventually it will stop digging

P.S. don't continue to punish the dog; for ever hole one punsihment; and when ur done ur done; if u conitinue to be mean to it it will start to fear u ;cuz it doesn't knwo what it did wrong. i love my dog but lets be serous there stupid soemtimes
