It is the spirit of manipulation and control. I believe that it is prevalent in our society today. I was reading up on narcissism and it dawned on me that many narcissistic people obsessively control and manipulate those around them. This is very similar to the spirit of Jezebel.

I was told that Jezebel is a spirit of manipulation and control. . .that is often used in marriages. . . And that we can easily fall prey to this spirit . . that we must guard against it. When I see myself [in the past] trying to manipulate and control my husband it may have been a Jezebel spirit. I think it more likely that the woman in marriage will try to manipulate and control the husband but the man can also be guilty of trying to manipulate and control the wife. It is a way of trying to get ones own way in a deceitful manner. . . when the right way is to simply ask for something being willing to accept a yes or a no answer.
There is a male counterpart to this spirit which it is more characteristic for men in marriage relationship to use. I cannot remember the name of it. I will inquire of my friend and get back with you on this.
Cathy out.
