Well, i have 5:

Shaggy-he's a purebreed shih tzu that my grandma was planning on surprising me with, she got him from one of her friends that was breeding at the time, and he costed her $350

Tumbleweed-he's also a purebreed shih tzu, my grandma thought that Shaggy might be lonely so she went to the same lady and got his actual brother. He was also $350

Chiller-he's a lab/chow mix, he belonged to one of our neighbors, but she was abusive and neglective. Chiller was often outside all day and night, no matter how bad the weather, and even once during a mild hurricane. We often talked to the neighbor about at least getting him a house, and she always said that she would but never did. After a while, we started feeding him underneeth our fence so that he wouldn't get too hungry, (she wasn't feeding him either). And one day he ran away and came into our yard. When our neighbor came to get him he kept running from her(we have a big yard)and so we told her that we'd just keep him. A week later she had moved, and we haven't heard from her since.

Butler-Chow/Mutt, in 2005 on Dec. 22, one of my mom's friends had invited us to come to her house because she had baked us a cake, so we went, and on the way going i was looking outside the window, and i saw something that at first glance looked like a cat. i didn't pay much attention to it as we went on to the lady's house. On the way back, i remembered what i had seen and told my dad to slow down when pasing the place where i had seen it, we saw that it was a little puppy and my mom told my dad to pull over. It was a funeral home (Butler's Funeral Home, to be exact), there was a guy walking towards the front enterance of the funeral home and i asked him whose dog it was. he said that if i could catch it, i could have it. My mom agreed, then we convinced my dad. i was able to get the dog out of the ditch that he was in, and i've had him since.

Missy-Little Mutt, missy is the only female dog that i have, and the guy that gave her to me didn't even know me. I was walking down the street with one of my friends, and the guy asked us if we wanted the puppy. he said that it belonged to his goddaughter, and that she wasn't taking care of it,and that he didn't want it. So me, being the animal lover that i am said yes. I took it back to my parents and convinced them to let me keep her, and i have her. She was also free (except for the $155.25 vet bill cause she was sick).

That's it. I love animals and my parents respect and support that, so, as far as animals go, they pretty much let me have them. I love it too!

I have three.
One is a hound mix, he looks like a coonhound. I adopted him from vet tech school, so he was free! His name is Lucas and he is about 2 years old now and is a big sweetie.
One is a hound/lab mix, maybe. I also adopted her from vet tech school. She looks like a small black lab with short legs--but not corgi-style short. Her name is Hannah and she is about 2 1/2 and is also a big sweetie!
The third is a shepherd mix, I think he has chow in him, he has ***** ears and a black mask, but the rest of him is red-gold, long fur, very stocky. His name is Max and he's about 7 months old now and of course he's a big goofy puppy! I got him for free as well. A guy I know got him as a 6 wk old baby from a friend, then realized that gosh, a dog won't fit in a tiny studio apartment, especially since he wasn't supposed to have pets anyway. So he was going to dump him on the side of the road! I didn't really want another dog but there was no way I was going to let that happen. My original plan was to find him a home--well, I did--mine!

I have 3 "rescues", all from breed rescue societies OR from an abuse situation. As in, I saw this guy beating a dog with a rope around his neck yanking til the dog was up in the air hanging while he was whaling on the poor thing, jumped out of my car , screaming "WHAT THE F ARE YOU DOING YOU blankety blank blank" and he dropped the rope and took off running. So I grabbed the dog, called the cops (in my town, it's a felony) and we lived happily ever after.
I mustve looked pretty scary to the guy, in my skirt and heels and makeup. If I ever see him again he's gonna be in trouble. Munya dont play like that.

I had two dogs, currently have one.

My first dog who passed away was a stray. I came home to find her on my doorstep and I took her in. She was a poodle mix and she was free. Definately worth it.

My second dog, which I currently have, was adopted from a rescue league 1 hour from which I live. I would of gone local, but they require that I be 25 or 21 to adopt. I paid $295 for her which included her vaccinations, spaying, collar, harness, a free exam, and a puppy package.

She's a miniature pinscher and curerntly 7 months old. Definately worth it.

My dog, Holly, is a black lab mix (I was told she has black lab, blue heeler, wolf, rottweiler, and pitbull, but who really knows, right? LOL). i was living in a coastal town and my friend I was staying with...well her bf...brought a puppy home. I loved it and asked them to find out if there were more. We went to this cruddy motel and I picked Holly out. She was only 4 weeks old, but they were giving them away due to the fact they were able to eat solid food. She was free. I would have refused to take her at such a young age, but I had already seen one of the pups go to someone who tied them outside their trailer and left them with no food and dirty water...at 4 WEEKS OLD. So I thought I would at least make sure one pup got a good home. She is 3 1/2 years old now.

We got Chico from an 18 yr old kid on Craigslist last June. He gave him away because he was never home and Chico is a destructive dog (he is 15 mos old and 75lbs now) so was spending like 14 hours a day in a dog crate. Needed something better. Chico is half yellow lab/half pitbull.

I got my dog from a lady in Geneva, Il. who's dog had puppies. I picked out the runt of the litter, it was love at first sight! He's a silky terrier, he didn't cost me anything because they thought he wasn't gonna make it but my mom and I helped him through, he just turned 3 years old at the end of December.
