Why would you say that there is more than one god?
If there is more than one god, then people would indeed start doubting their beliefs and eventually themselves.

Some so called "gods" you can see, and some you can't. I don't really think a sculpture carved by a human hand would be a god, because what can it do? It has less feelings than any animal.

That would indeed narrow some of the religions down a bit would it not?

Just because Christians believe in a God they cannot literally see, doesn't mean it isn't there. You might wonder, that such a religion is worse than just worshipping any idol. However, some poeple cannot accept a belief that they cannot see, touch or feel.

There is a book called the Bible, and I really should think you could get to know the religion better by reading and understanding before questioning, otherwise it will be pointless.

Wish all readers well, and hope you find the answer!!!

IF my beliefs as a Christian were wrong, and that is a BIG IF, then my life is forfeit. I don't believe in God for nothing. even the thought of him not being there makes my heart hurt and my stomach nauseaous. There is too much in my life and the lives of people around me to convince me otherwise. I suppose if God really wasn't there, I'd kill myself. Or I'd get killed by some other religous group. But if God wasn't there I'd be dead already so it wouldn't have made a difference.

There is nothing in the world, no one, no event, no movie, Da Vinci Code, or conspiracy that would ever make me doubt God and Jesus.
FunFact: the author of the Da Vinci Code himself says it is fiction, and there is a note on the copyright page that says 'this book is a work of fiction.' so even with a few truths embedded in it, it is not true enough to trust its contents.

This is actually two questions.

1. If there is no god, then those who are (and have) suffered for their faith have suffered for no reason. That would be a sad, sad situation. Those who do good in god's name are also wasting their time and effort, for the same reason: humans aren't worth the effort (if there is no god).

People who are cruel "in god's name" are always wasting their time, whether there is a god or not.

2. If we are truely worshipping the wrong deity, then may He have mercy on our ignorance.

I don't worry about either situation. I'm just answering the question you posed.

If there was no God, then I would lose nothing. I haven't lost anything by leading a Christian life. I still have fun. I just have fun now without destroying my body. What if the wrong god? I am strong in my belief and checked the word carefully, so I am not wrong.

Then I would have nothing to lose by following after righteousness, but if you are wrong you will pay an expensive gamble for your soul is worth more than anything in this life.

I know and have complete faith in what I believe.

I have studied many doctrines and ideas, esoteric, been an astrologer...etc and I know the Word of God to be true, and that the Living God is real as He has proven to me many times.

If there is no God, and nothing happens to me once I'm dead, I figure it won't really matter... I'm 100% sure I'm worshiping the correct God, but if hypothetically I was wrong, I guess it would just be too bad for me.

If there is no God then we are out nothing. We enjoyed the Christian life, enjoyed the fellowship and freindships, even experienced healing. If we worshipped the wrong one it could be horrible indeed. I take my chances on the Christian God because of all the Bible prophecies that have proven the book had to be written with supernatural help.

I would rather live my life believing that there is a God and find out that there isn't, than to live my life believing that there is not a God and find out in the end that there is.
However, I know that God exists because He is real in my life and He has shown me many things the closer I get to Him. It is so sweet to know Him!

I would rather live like there is a God and there isn't, then live like there isn't a God and there is. I am a Christian, but if I wasn't think how it would really stink to live horribly and die to find out there was only an eternity of hell for me. Then to live respectfully and die to be glorified in heaven and never have to suffer again living in the presence of God
