When I first got my dog Zoey she looked like a normal, healthy Black Lab. She had all the orginal looks and we were told she was a purebred Lab.
But then she acctually got Whiskers! Her coat became very thick and somewhat wavey.
I searched the "breed" Labradoodle and she looked just like one of the adult dogs. But she could have not looked differenter when the Labradoodles are puppies.
Any reasons why this happened?

It's not that I care if she is full bloodled or not. I'll love her just the same.

Some labs do in fact have very thick, wavy coats but I'm not sure what you mean by whiskers. Remember, labs were bred for water retrieving in cold water and a thick, layered coat is what keeps them warm. A fuzzy face, however, is definitely not a lab characteristic. Where did you get her? If she came from a pet shop, puppy supermarket or backyard breeder, she may not be purebred even IF she has AKC papers to "prove" it. Unfortunately, dishonest people can fairly easily come up with faked papers. "Labradoodle" is not really a breed as you noted, just a mix that's popular (and very pricey for a mixed breed!) right now. Chances are, if that's what she was you would know it.
There's no substitute for doing the research before you buy a puppy. If you go on the AKC website, there are suggestions for finding a reputable breeder. PS: I have two mixed breeds and we wouldn't love or enjoy them more if they were purebred.

well, it sounds like you were cheated. i hope you didn't pay for that dog, becuase if so, you deserve a refund. The same thing happend to one of my neighbors, they bought this cute little puppy that they were told was a pure chow. It had the purple tounge and everything! then they noticed little things that were not turning chow-ish, like it's coat. It was fuzzy when they bought it as a puppy, but then it smoothed out and hasn't gotten back fuzzy since. Even the dog's tail, it just lays down, when chow's tails are supposed to curl up. They went to try and find the people that they bought the pup from, and they weren't able to. That is just the types of chances that you take when you are trying to get a purebreed dog from someone other than an accredited breeder.

All dogs have whiskers, but it sounds like she may be part Poodle. I know a dog that is 3/4 Lab and 1/4 Poodle and it looks like a lanky Lab with short curly hair. I have also seen AKC registered Labs that have a little bit of wavy hair on their backs; she looked fine as a puppy but as she matured it got a little wavy. She may also have a little Flat Coated Retriever in her. If you didn't get papers from a reputable registry (like AKC) she may not be purebred.

ask the person who gave you the dog for the papers.
