Do you mean to "relieve" anger? If so, Cutie wit a big booti, iamabrat319, and Bonboo have some good advice. As a retired mental health professional with 20+ years experience, I can vouch for their recommendations, as well as encourage more of what Bonboo said. Sometimes the first two recommendations can get you stuck in a quagmire of anger and hostility and it will be difficult to get out of. Some guidance along those lines might be helpful, so, if you have someone trustworthy to talk to about it, that might be a very good avenue along with the others. I have found prayer often works much better than any of the above. I've had the occasion to be very angry in my life, and I've tried all the recommendations mentioned here, and then some. They were all good, but prayer was the "icing on the cake" and made things peaceful again. God Bless you.

One of the difficulties that you face is that when you engage in cutting and burning yourself it creates endorphines in your body....almost like a high......have seen many who are addicted to that high..CONGRATS for wanting to get it under control!
Anger Management - punching bag, gym, someone to talk to that will just listen and let you vent, stress ball, shower, exercise, music usually the louder the better, good cry, write it out, change your self talk......most people in these circumstances engage in negative self talk (put downs, feel unworthy, just stupid anyway, nobody understand etc.) when you notice that your thinking has become negative you need to do your best to change the way you are thinking......make positive statements, positive choices.....and at all costs distract yourself.......
The best thing you can do for yourself is to find a counsellor who has had success treating cutters.....they can help to guide you on the way and can provide other alternatives for relieving anger.
You didn't say if this only happens when you become angry or if you are always angry.....if you are always angry you need to try and understand why and try to reslove that issue. If anger is just a trigger to self harm then the above suggestions will probably be helpful.
The best of luck!

Honey, I am so sorry that the anger and pain is so that you can relieve it by causing more on the outside! You might try a genuine punching bag or even making one, if you can't find one to purchase, from a body pillow. You just punch daylights out of that pillow anytime you feel like hurting yourself! Later, when you get yourself under some control, you could journal instead of acting out. It's a fine way to control the emotions without someone (even you...especially you) getting hurt. Write letters that will never get mailed. Say everything you want to say to everyone you want to say it TO without the worry of it being seen or causing hurt feelings.
First and foremost, though, you need to find someone to talk to!!! These other things you can do after you have established some boundaries for yourself over what you will and will not do. And that is easier if you have someone you can hash things out with on a regular basis... please do this for yourself! You are worth more than pain, honey... honest you are!

Working out, boxing, kickboxing, running, racketball, anything that requires you to actually challenge yourself. This will keep your mind focused on what your doing and not cutting.
