since we were kids my brother hated me. he would steal from me and said someone else did it. he would guilt me into lending him my stuff and either got it back broken or not at all. Now that we are adults its all him blaming me for everything and his wife and kids and mother-in-law are following his lead. to make a long story short he wants money from me cause a relative left me money. I said no and now everybody is mad at me and they are finding ways to get even. My sister in law said I abused my brother when we were kids. I have no idea what my brother is telling his family, but its all lies. for the sake of my parent we only get together on holidays. Im tired of being a scape goat but dont know what to say its a dammed if you do or dammed if you don't situation. what can I do about this,

It was hard but I don't talk with my family much anymore. It's totally worth it. From what you have said, would you hang out with people like this? do you have friends like this?

Break your ties and live your life. Some people never change as you have said. Why are you holding on? Every moment longer that I spent time with people who were no good for me I regretted.

If the relative wanted him to have money he would have left him some, too. You don't owe him a dime. Actually they have a lot of guts trying to get you to give them some.
You know how it is, you can pick your friends but not your relatives. They sound like a bunch of loser's so who cares if their mad. Sounds to me like you would be better off to stay away from them, will make your life a lot happier.

Just realize that trying to defend yourself against a lie is sometimes an impossible task. Probably the quickest way to stop the hounding is to say you spent it all or lost it it all. Once the money is gone, what would they have to gain by doing it?

Then don't. You do not have to involve yourself with people who engage in emotional blackmail, I don't care who they are. Distance yourself from this parasite. Do not accept his calls, nor those of his family. We all would like to get along with our families, but when we don't it is best for the sanity of all involved to provide some distance.
Celebrate the holiday with your parent before or after he has come and gone.

Not much, just ignore your family. You know just because your family does not mean you have to be friendly with them. Make your own life independent of them, and never see them again. You wouldn't be the first one to do so, and you will be a lot happier.

Sounds like yoou people have a hard time letting by-gones be by-gones.......he probably IS telling stories that make him look like the victim, do you not have better things to do then worry about what he says and to who? Let it go.

You can tell them all to get lost and go on with your life. Don't live your life to please others. Life is too short.
