A leader is best when his people barely know he exists. When his work is completed, his aim fulfilled, they will say: "We did it ourselves."

Part of the test of belief is believing without seeing. There will be a time when God will be revealed. We believe that He is coming--again--and until then we must put our trust in Him.
Also, as C.S. Lewis suggests in 'The Last Battle', there are some who cannot be won over by seeing heaven in all its glory. We, as humans, cannot yet see or understand God's whole mystery...He will show us when He comes. For now we can only have a first foretaste in the sacraments.
God's peace.

If God showed Himself to everyone in a physical manephestation then we would all have no chioce but to believe in Him. God not showing Himself gives us the benifit of the doubt here in this life for a time. It is through God grace that he makes beliveing in Him a choice.

The unsaved often want a "sign" from God. This is in spite of the testimony of creation, their conscience, the Bible, and the Christian. The cross is the only thing that can truly convince a sinner of the reality of who Jesus is. Once they understand that the holes in His hands and His feet are there because of their own sin, they will fall at His feet and cry, "My Lord and my God!"

That doesn't go away a lot room for mankind to have self belief now would it not. God is actuality. If someone hears the actuality and denies it, they misinform themselves. guy chooses to instruct adversarial to God and his note, and to take a stand adversarial to him. you're appropriate, in a way, God does want his children to go back to Heaven with him. yet God gained't enable deceit (Evil) to enter his Kingdom back after Lucifer grew to change into his lower back on God. imagine of earth because the proving grounds. i imagine you blame God for no longer exhibiting up because you experience unable or unwilling to obey him. it really is your determination, no longer Gods.

I took an Old Testament Biblical Literature class at my college, and we discussed this topic. We decided that God won't show Himself to everyone because it doesn't take faith to believe in something you can clearly see.

Well if God magically came down from heaven and started handing out free cheesecake or whatever it is that he would decide to do then it would ruin all the fun. There'd be no room for war over religion, bickering church groups, and us poor atheists would start sweating....big time.

That would be like seeing the ending of a movie before it ever began, or being given the key to a puzzle or game without figuring it out for yourself. What's the point?

like most of the rest have said, he has shown Himself through Jesus.
but if God the Father were to show us Himself literally, we wouldn't be able to comprehend and would probably die because we are sinful beings , and He is perfect and cannot dwell with sin.

Jesus is a part of the holy trinity that GOD has shown to humans, but humans are too weak to tolerate the unbelievable power of his presence, and the strenght of his voice.

A better question is why won't we accept it every time he shows himself to us? See I believe he does prove himself to us on a daily basis.
