Yes. I love having one. I'd recommend a recumbent bike. I sit and petal away while I'm reading magazines or books and before I know it 45 minutes has gone by. Sometimes I end up being on it longer because I want to finish what I'm reading. So yes, it's been very helpful for me to keep weight off.

we brought an exercise bike, and if im honest with you, it was out of use after a month of the purchase.

For us, having to stay stationary whilst exercise just was not as appealing as leaving the house.

Isntead we have wrked out a routine of badminton and running/walking outside, which has kept us motivated and fit.

It is also fun to exercise with friends and family as they can motivate you to take your exercising one step further, and could also lead to more friendships. All this can be hard when using just a stationary bike.

No way, you can eat lots of red, orange, and yellow foods to help you loose weight, so you won't need to starve as you will be eating lots of fresh fruit and vegetables. Good luck. The money you save buying a bike can go on good quality food like organic.

They are a waste of money and don't let anybody tell you different. I go to auctions regularly and their always up for auction and going cheap.

Walking around your neighborhood will get you in touch with your neighbors and probably more scenic anyway. Maybe you can even help an elderly person by occasional walking their dog. Just a thought. Don't forget your tunes.

If you doing it to lose weight, you're better off with a treadmill. Biking is good for cardio and general fitness, whereas walking and jogging actually burns more calories.
