I have the SAME PROBLEM!
I finally found THE BEST products for me and now my hair has body and volume and is shiny and smells great.
The Garnier line of products (found at Walmart, Target and Walgreens) in the bright green bottle.
I use the volume enhancing shampoo, I only use their conditioner on my ends, so it won't weigh my hair down. Then I use their Root treatment product for volume (you spray it on clean, wet hair before you blow dry, only at the roots to add volume) then I put in their XXL volume mouse and I blow dry with a round brush, and wow, what a difference.
My hair will hold a curl better, or looks nice even if it's just straight because of the shine and volume. I get compliments on the fruity smell too.
Good luck!
P.S. the good news is those products are pretty inexpensive, like 3 or 4 dollars each, and they last a long time.

bypass to a salon that sells Abba shampoo and conditioner. I have very skinny, infant positive hair, and that i have been utilising it for your time, and my short perm seems good except if i do not wash it each seventh day. It feels thicker, and as if I have more suitable hair than when I used different shampoos. i'm purely about out and that i will purchase yet another volumizing shampoo. yet I plan on going lower back to the Abba in 2 months no matter if it isn't almost as good. each head of hair must have a distinct shampoo each 3-6 months ... the longest you should use one form is a 12 months, yet i regulate when I run out ... it particularly is about 6 months ...

After you wash it at night, put Redken #6 Thickening Lotion in it, and put Rusk Blofoam on your roots. All this when your hair is still very damp. Then put it in a ponytail on top of your head and go to bed with is still damp. When you wake up, the roots will be dry and give the ends a quick blow dry on medium heat and you'll be good to go.

There is a product out called Redken Hair Thickening Lotion. I have very fine hair and very flat. Try this and also use Volumizing Shampoo and Conditioner from Redken. Great products. Also Kenra has a root lifter product called Thermal Styling Spray. Spray at roots and you have TONS of Volume........ Good Luck

1/2 cup of coconut milk in a spray bottle. Spray while wet and blow dry. This gives instant volume, looks thicker, fuller and is a natural alternative. You can buy plain unsweetened coconut milk in health food stores

Just try brushing your hair upside down. Or, spray hairspray at the roots of your hair. Lift up your hair and spray at the roots, and keep your hair at that position for a little bit. Plus, you can spray the roots of your hair while your hair is upside down to volumize it.
