First off, you're not a loser. You've chosen to save yourself for this person and there's nothing to be ashamed about. It's an admirable trait that has become lost in our society.
As far as positions, I'd just go with the flow and don't sweat it. Don't expect things to be totally perfect the first time, either. It takes time to learn each others bodies. What works for some people may not work for you.
