crunches; they don't have that lull period where you pull yourself all the way up as you do with sit ups

Crunches are better if you do them right. When doing crunches you should hold the up position for a couple of seconds. Dont go down until you feel the burn. Works good for your upper abs. Sit ups are good for the lower abs but you have to do alot of them to feel anything. Two different exercises actually. Situps are not good for your back so I believe crunches are better for you.

Crunches because they don't hurt your back and becuse you can actually "feel" the tightening of your abs

they target different areas of you abs. try leg raises. lay flat on your back, and raise your legs, keeping them straight, about 1/2 of a foot off the ground.

crunches are way safer and just as effcective. sit ups can actually damage your back.

yeah , she is, maybe go with regular sit ups if you can do them, if not crunches
