No, they do not have hard drives. They use a removable memory card (SD, CF etc) which stores your photos etc. But, these memory cards act like a removable drive, because you can put any type of file onto it (space permitting).
However, when you delete photos from your memory card, you CAN possibly recover them if you accidently delete them. You would need to have the right recovery software program to do this, though.
The easiest way to erase all files COMPLETELY from your memory card...is to make sure you FORMAT it (in the camera).

Digital cameras have memory cards which a storage device like a hard drive. The difference is that memory cards are much smaller in sizes and are not as fragile as a hard drive.
There are cards called micro drive that are similar to hard drives except that much smaller. But those micro drives are not being used anymore.

nop they dont hav hard drives..instead they use the internal memory or the external memory card to save pics or videos u take.
once u delete them ther gone forever u cant recover it.
its like ps2 u play the game and save on ur memory card when u turn off ps2 it remembers nothing.
only a high quality handy camrecorder or dvd camera would probably hav a hdd( the latest ones)
hope this explains.
