I need some help. these people on yahoo answers made her cry because she told them something that's true about her family, and they didn't believe her. They were pretty much yelling at her. Do they not have any heart at all? How could they do that to an 8 year old. It just makes me so upset and heartbroken to see her crying. What can I do? I don't like to see her cry. I'm very protective of my brothers, sisters, step brothers and step brothers. And she's my step sister. She can be so sweet. Seeing her cry makes me want to cry. After they said that to, she ran off crying. I just want to know what the heck they were thinking. Does anyone have any good advice on what to do. We can't go to an , because there are none here. But please tell me what i should do.

How can an 8 yrs old have access to Internet first of all??? and second, this is what we expect in yahoo answers my friend, who is going to know how old I am etc.. came on give me a break in that case is his parents fault.

first off, you have to remember the online community...there are misinterpretations everywhere on here and I hope that you can explain that to your little sister. Another thing is that when people don't actually know where someone is coming from, again, those misinterpretations can arise. I didn't get to see the question or posting she made, but being 8 years old, I would suggest to her to talk to a familiar adult (it doesn't necessarily have to be mom, dad, or steps) trying a school counselor or her teacher. Or you being the older sibling, lead her to an adult that might be able to help her. Those people are there for younger children and will help at the drop of a hat. And please explain to her that no matter what happens with online comments, that she has a wonderful older sibling who cares for her and is there for her. The world can be misinformed and harsh and it can lead to ignorance, but you know the whole story and can help just by being there for her. Assure her that there are people who care for her and that these people on Yahoo! (not all) sometimes don't have a heart and that she needs to work with those that care about her. Some one should be monitoring a 8 year old girl on the Internet. Some of the things that are wrote and answered aren't fit for a child's eyes. She's 8, she'll live and get over it. In the mean time keep her off the Internet unless you know whats website she's in Could be a lot worse, she could be... being conned in by some sexual pervert.

Ok...first of all, there are 17 of you guys. He cant take custody of all of you because some of you guys arent his real kids. Not trying to bring you down, but try to set out an adverisment [i know, its werid and all] but it true. Tell the police. I'm giving you the best advice! Tell the freakin police! Thats their job, tell them you know he's alive and you'll run away again if they dont find him and they should lsiten to you guys, otherwise, they're bad policemen.
Write out newspaper, flyers, write letters out to people telling them to adpoat some of you guys and until u can find her dad......let them take you guys in. Really, I dont know what I can do. But tell the policemen.

Explain to her that no one knows she's 8 and that there are a lot of people on here who ask really dumb questions just to see what type of responses they will receive. Tell her to ask her question again and to begin by advising that she's only 8 and that she really needs help with her issue. Giver her a big hug and let her know that everyone isn't mean!
