There's plenty of Catholic Mysticism around...Pope John Paul II was a Mystic. Many Catholic teachings are the same or very similar to some Hindu beliefs.
I think if you punch in "Catholic Mysticism" on Google...you'll find the answers you're looking for...and many you probably already know. There's many, many elements of Catholicism that go beyond the once-a-week-and-on-Easter variety that are perfectly legitimate.

All religions hold some element of the Truth...for better or worse. The Catholic Church is filled with elements and beliefs that other Christian and other Churches choose to disregard or consider unimportant. That's what's so great about it...you don't have to believe or even learn all the wonderful teachings that are available in order to be a Catholic.
We had a visiting Priest do Sunday Mass today who is an astronomer on a Sabbatical from the Vatican Observatory. He was fascinating...I had no idea that the Church taught some of the things he talked about during the Homily.

I've found it uninteresting to follow Christianity. So I'm Agnostic because it is better for the mind. I continue to read various books about spirituality and religion. My advice would be to keep reading about Hinduism. And try to talk with Hindus for some insight.

I believe you asked this question before, but here is another link for your information.

You start by declaring yourself as a Hindu, by believing in Vedas and Hindu philosophy and worshiping the Hindu gods (with the understanding that they are all different manifestations of the Supreme Being). Other than that I don't think you need to do anything else.

I am sorry that you feel that Christianity is not working for you right now. I wonder if you still believe in God? That is the first thing you must ask yourself..if your answer is yes, then going to Hinduism or anything else will be the worst thing you could do. Those "gods" are dead..our God is real.
If you still believe in God, could it be that your relationship with God is a little estranged..like we can have an estranged friendship with someone here..stale, not vibrant, not fun, loving or caring..not getting something out of the relationship..
Could this be the problem?
If so, there are ways of dealing with that rather than going to things that are false..and then realising that the Holy Spirit is still speaking to us and jogging our conscience..and one day we listen and realize we have gone down a false path and have to deal with all the regrets etc.
God is strong enough for you to be able to just talk to Him and tell
Him what you are feeling..and to ask for help.
God Bless.

have you read about Islam? I think you'll find a lot of similarities and some answers to some questions you might have. If you are on a spiritual quest, then read everything and find out its essense, rather then have any assumptions. Don't let anyone influence what you should or shouldn't research. Good luck.

You have got to be Indian to be Hindu. Even the half caste is a Rawan.
Christianity doesn't really work for anyone. As a Christian your prayers fly right back into your face like an echo.
Take the 17th. Chapter of the Gospel of John and try to work out what the Christ is praying for and convert the prayer into what he would have wanted you to pray for yourself and see if it works for you.

In Western countries, your best point of contact would likely be the closest branch of the Vedanta Society (otherwise known as the Ramakrishna Mission). Google it, and If you live in or near a fairly big city, you'll probably find one in your area. I wish you well on your spiritual search.

You can always read up on the net, go to the library or look for a Hindu temple or association near you.

Why isn't it working for you? Maybe because sin is you friend right now. I'm not trying to be rude but that's what people say when they want to go out in the world and do naughty things.
